What is the SEAI Community Scheme?
The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland – SEAI offers the Community Energy Grant Scheme to support energy efficiency & renewable energy projects which are led by communities, public sector bodies & businesses.
This scheme funds projects that will aim to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions across a range of buildings — including homes, schools, community centres, sports clubs, and many more.
Who Can Apply?
This scheme is open to many different applicants, including: Community groups, Housing associations, Charities and non-profits
If your Community group is currently working towards a project that will deliver real energy savings and community benefit, you may be eligible.
What Kind of Projects Are Funded?
The SEAI Community Scheme supports renewable energy upgrades, such as:
- Home insulation & heating upgrades
- Solar PV installations
- Heat pump systems
- Lighting upgrades
- Boiler replacements
- Energy management systems
How Much Funding is Available?
Grants cover up to 50% of project costs for community and not-for-profit buildings.
